immeiko photographer

Most people know me as Mercy and my family calls me Iko (eeko) short for "God's time is the best" in the Igala Language. So as you may have figured out, Meiko is a combination of both my names. Call me whichever you're most comfortable with.

I am a Nigerian-born mama of two beautiful children (a boy and girl), married to their AWESOME daddy and living a pretty chilled out life in a village in Kent, UK. As well as being a wife and mother, I am a visual and performance artist and photography and film are my favourite media. I studied and enjoyed photography for many years and with the birth of my son, I fell in love with capturing everything to do with motherhood and family; my focus is always to capture the natural and loving moments unfolding before my lens. You will often find me angling for the details; sweet little baby feet, a kiss between mother and child or a father's strong arms around his baby's tender body. I am deeply committed to freezing those precious, fleeting moments. Take a look at some of my work.

I also enjoy writing and my blog is a way for me to share my experiences and many thoughts on married life, motherhood, photography and other things I love.

Apart from family life and photography, I also volunteer as a breastfeeding peer supporter because as you will soon find out from reading my posts, I am very passionate about empowering mothers to breastfeed. I have some training and lots of experience so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message and I will do my best to help you or direct you to someone who can. Meanwhile, you can also check out my list of useful links.

So once again, welcome! I hope you enjoy exploring my website . You can get in touch with me through the contact page. Also, please don't forget to follow me on social media and subscribe BELOW so that you don't miss any news and updates.
